The AFC 65th Annual Convention will be held at the Hilton Sandestin, October 29-31, 2014. The Convention is the celebratory event of the year for the Florida College System. It includes an exhibit hall with over 35 suppliers, more than 30 diverse educational programs, informative membership and association-related meetings, exemplary practice presentations, recognitions and awards, and excellent networking opportunities for members and friends of the Florida College System.

Our convention provides an excellent opportunity for collaboration between colleges, chapters, regions, commissions, and programs throughout the state. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity for great professional development and networking to learn about best practices being used by your peers at institutions across the state. This opportunity demonstrate how we can "Achieve Success Together" with creative and practical ideas that impact teaching, learning, and student success.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS YEAR'S CONVENTION IS LOCATED IN THE CENTRAL TIME ZONE. THOSE COMING FROM TALLAHASSEE AND BEYOND WILL NEED TO PLAN ACCORDINGLY. YOU WILL GAIN ONE HOUR. THE CENTRAL TIME ZONE IS ONE HOUR BEHIND THE EASTERN TIME ZONE. FOR EXAMPLE: IF IT IS 11:00 AM ON YOUR WATCH AND YOU CAME FROM THE EASTERN TIME ZONE, IT WILL BE 10:00 AM CENTRAL TIME.

Hotel Accommodations:	The Hilton Sandestin - 4000 Sandestin Boulevard South - Destin, Florida 32550 - (850) -267-9500 (Phone) - (850) -267-3076 (Fax) A room block has been created at The Hilton. The room rate is $129.00 per night, single or double occupancy. For reservations please call: 1-850-267-9500 during business hours 8-5 Central Time. Please ask for the AAC (AFC Annual Convention) group rate. It is necessary to call during business hours so you reach the local hotel reservations desk. If you get transferred to Central Reservations you will be charged a one night stay to your credit card to hold the room. Service Project:	As we gather in Destin, Florida, our service project this year will support the Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Florida. Our specific project will be to help them with their Santa’s Workshop collection for families who have loved ones in the hospital over the holidays. Certified College Professional Program:	The Certified College Professional (CCP) Program provides you with the opportunity to earn a designation related to your work as a college professional or with the Florida College System. It will expose you to content and experiences you may not be able to obtain elsewhere. The CCP program provides significant value-added benefits for members and non-members and enhances the AFC's role as the primary professional development provider for the Florida College System. Exhibitor/Sponsor Information:	Do you work with suppliers who would like the opportunity to showcase what their company has to offer employees and institutions of the Florida College System? Extend them an invitation to participate in a wonderful opportunity to market their goods and services to the 550+ college personnel who represent a portion of the 8,000+ AFC members. Attendees at the AFC Annual Convention represent all facets of each College. We will have all 28 of our College Presidents in attendance as well as V.P.’s of Business Affairs. The majority of our attendees are Career & Professional Staff, Administrative Staff and Faculty. In addition, there are 15 specialty groups called commissions that will be represented by the above listed attendees. These groups include the Faculty Commission, Student Development Commission, and the Administration Commission to name just a few. A full list of our commissions can be here. Q: How do I retrieve login credentials for my college president, lobbyist, or trustee?

A: Please send an email to [email protected] with the name(s) of those you wish to register. Also include the email address that you would like associated with them (i.e. the assistant who will be registering them). Once we confirm their information is correct in the database, you will receive an email with all usernames and passwords for all profiles attached to your email address. **Please note, you will receive AFC email blasts for each person whose membership profile is attached to your email address.
