The mission of the Workforce, Adult, and Continuing Education Commission is to represent the interests of those involved in workforce and adult education at community and state colleges. 

WHAT WE DO

The objective of the Workforce, Adult, and Continuing Education Commission includes providing participation in all areas related to workforce and adult education programs and practices.  We are a resource network to help faculty, administrators, and support staff to stay abreast of the workforce and adult-related issues as well as best practices.

Welcome - A Message from the 2023 Chair

Hello!  My name is Catherine Leimer, and in addition to being the WACE chair for the 2023 academic year, I serve as the Assistant Director of Baccalaureate and Career Program Advising at Seminole State College of Florida.  I have worked in the Florida College System for the past 13 years starting at Eastern Florida State College and Valencia College, in addition to my current role at Seminole State.  I have been an AFC member since 2012 and became involved in 2014 starting out in the Student Development Commission, and now finding a home in WACE. 

In my current role, I oversee the advising for students pursuing our workforce programs and bachelor’s degrees. 

My goal for 2023 is to continue to provide opportunities for our members to learn and network through lunch and learn events, as well as through our social media.  We are all doing such great things in the workforce, adult, and continuing education, and I’d like to highlight our amazing people and programs!
